Adults

Our counselling team is passionate about people. We love meeting families and individuals, learning their stories and providing a safe spaces for growth. Counselling at The Village will provide you with proven therapeutic tools and strategies to deepen understanding, heal and create a map for the future.

We work with adults who have a complex presentation of varying strengths and challenges, where other professionals have struggled to 'pin point' what could be helpful. Our counsellors utilise a mindful, person-centred approach, treating you, your individual experiences, your symptoms and coping mechanisms as unique and personal in order to allow you to fully recover.

For young people The Village offers counselling for the physical, psychological, social, identity and relationship changes encountered in the journey to adulthood.

Adolescence is a unique stage of life in which rapid growth occurs physically, psychologically and socially. This affects every aspect of life and brings a diverse set of challenges through which ongoing patterns of behaviour are established.  If you are worried about your teenager now is the best time to take action.

Children

Children in particular can have trouble accessing the psychological resources required to circumvent emotional distress. Even the calmest of kids can experience intense emotional dysregulation, some more often that others. This often looks like excessive worry, anxiety, crying, aggression, nausea, running away, and shutting down.

Counselling can help children to develop insight, understanding, self-esteem and coping skills.
